Navigating Barriers. Rebuilding Lives.

Serving people in need.

We’re committed to serving our community by providing and connecting people to resources to help them thrive.

What We Provide

Housing

Our primary area of ministry is providing temporary & transitional housing for people in need. Currently, there are few options for immediate housing for homeless people in our community. We want to Step Up and fill in the gap, then work with existing agencies to help transition people out of short-term housing and into more permanent accommodations.

Jail Ministry

We are partnering with the Brown County Sheriff’s Department in jail ministry. The results are powerful. In doing so, we are finding incarcerated men and women looking for resources, guidance, or temporary housing after their release. Many are provided with the opportunity to take a path for good, rather than fall back to old, habitual ways. In addition, the jail ministry has led to a cooperative relationship with probation and parole service offices.

Life Skills

Additional goals are to assist our clients with life skills, including: budgeting, cooking, cleaning, and saving money while shopping. Especially when working with homeless individuals, one essential area in which we will work extensively is helping people get proper credentials (birth certificate, Social Security card, driver’s license) to get a job and a more permanent housing.
